Isaiah
To us a child is born
The people who walk in darkness
have seen a great light.
A light has dawned
on those who live in the land
of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.
You have enlarged the nation;
you have increased their joy.
They rejoice before you,
as people rejoice at harvest time
as men rejoice in dividing the spoil.

Psalm 23
The good shepherd
The Lord is my shepherd, I
shall not want.
He makes me lie down in
green pastures.
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul.
He guides me through the
paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

1 John
God - love is the source of love
My dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves is been born of God and knows God.
He who does not love has not known God, for God is love.

St Paul Publications

Until Vatican II this was almost the only Bible in English officially recognised by the Church as being suitable for Catholics. It is quite difficult to read as it is not a modern translation.

Isaiah
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: to them that dwelt in the region of the shadow of death, light is risen.
Thou has multiplied the nation, and hast not increased the joy. They shall rejoice before thee, as they that rejoice in the harvest, as conquerors rejoice after taking a prey, when they divide the spoils.

Psalm 22 [23]
The Lord ruleth me: and I shall want nothing.
He hath set me in a place of pasture.
He hath brought me up, on the water of refreshment: he hath converted my soul.
He hath led me on the paths of justice, for his own name's sake.

1 John
Dearly beloved, let us love one another, for charity is of God. And every one that loveth, is born of God, and knoweth God.
He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is charity.
