Sunday Gospel Readings with Lectio Divina - Year A

A resource written by Monsignor Anthony Abela and produced by the United Bible Societies.
The Bishops' Conference in Scotland has endorsed the English edition of the resource:

“ Our springboard into the year of Matthew, year A of the three-year lectionary cycle, has been two remarkable events which took place in 2010. The Edinburgh 2010 Conference in June, marking the centenary of the 1910 World Missionary Conference and the vist in September of Pope Benedict XVI.
Like Matthew's Gospel, the teo events remind us that the revelation of God's love in Jesus Christ is fundamentally incarnational - rooted in humanity and in the unfolding of human history.
Once again we commend to you this prayerful resource, which invites us, through the ancient Christian practice of Lectio Divina, to allow the Word of God to take root and give direction to our life, so that in all we are and do and say, we will bear witness that Jesus Christ is truly the Son of God; that his word is ever ancient and ever new; and his command to bring the Gospel to the ends of the earth is as urgent today as it has ever been."
