Welcome
to your Bible Sunday resources!
As promised, here are your resources for Bible Sunday. And it’s a
truly gastronomic buffet – a wide variety of materials from which
you can pick and choose to provide your church with a taste of all the
Bible has to offer.
Remember that Bible Sunday is officially on either 28 October or 9 December,
but you can choose any Sunday to feast on the Bible’s big meal. If
necessary, please pass on this pack to the person leading your Bible Sunday
service.
As I’m sure you know, Bible Sunday this year has the theme of Going
Large – Feast on the Bible’s big meal to draw strength for
today and tomorrow. This theme and the materials are drawn from Romans
15.1–6 (one of the lectionary readings for 28 October for those churches
which follow them). You can read more on the background to Paul’s
letter to the Christians of Rome in the background information enclosed.
These resources are easy to use, straightforward and adaptable to your
own circumstances. You don’t have to use them all and you can vary
when you use them: Sunday morning, Sunday evening, midweek, home groups,
youth groups – whenever suits you and your church.

Feeding the hunger of millions
Bible Sunday gifts in 2007 will bring the Bible to communities who don’t
read and urgently wait for the Scriptures in audio. These communities
are some of the world's poorest and come alive as they enter into the
story
of the Bible for themselves.
We hope that you and your church enjoy your feast on Bible Sunday. Please
remember to let us know how you get on. Your comments will be valuable
to us in preparing more great resources for your 2008 Bible Sunday pack.
