The PowerPoint Presentation is designed to facilitate ministers and pastors in conveying how the great challenge of creating access to Scripture is being undertaken by the Bible Societies.

The Presentation focuses on:

• The privilege of access to Scripture in our heart language. (Mary Jones’ Bible; a world of contrasts)

• The joy with which the first availability of Scripture is greeted. (Tzotzil-Chamula Bible translation is dedicated in Mexico).

• The translation work being supported from Ireland (Ethiopia etc).

• The massive scale of Scripture distribution worldwide and projects being supported from Ireland (28 countries including Sudan).

• The impact of Scripture on individual lives (Sudan, Zimbabwe, and China).

• The need to challenge our own attitudes to the Scriptures which contrast with places like Zimbabwe. (Quote from Edward Mutema)

• The current Handwritten Bible Project in Ireland – encouraging people to engage with the Scriptures.

• The uncompleted task - opportunities for churches to support Scripture translation and / or distribution in countries like China (Bible printing and a crowd of 8,000 awaiting a distribution of Bibles in China).
